60second Recap is a website that gives you “trailers for books” — 60 second summaries (“recaps”) of literature. Here’s an introduction to the site, from their YouTube channel:

There are recaps of literary classics like George Orwell’s 1984 and F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. These are all under the  Recap Study Guides heading. They include a brief overview, and then a series of 1-minute videos about the book, including plot summary, main characters, and symbolism.

There are also weekly book reviews of YA (Young Adult) literature. These are under the Book Reviews heading.

Under the Resources heading, you’ll find a dictionary of literary terms, and tips for writing essays and creating your own recap videos.

The Archives include short articles, essays and blog posts on reading and writing, learning, tips for memorizing, FAQ about college life, and much more.

And finally, the Club heading is home to a collection of 60-second recap videos made by students, with their questions and answers about books.

It’s a nice-looking, easy-to-navigate site where you can get a little extra help on reading, find new books to read, and get inspired to introduce your own favorite stories and books.
