Fun Trivia is, according to Wikipedia, the largest trivia site on the internet. You can quiz yourself and find out facts about almost anything. You don’t have to sign up to take many of the quizzes, but if you want access to all the games, and the ability to save your points and compete with people, you’ll need to create a free account.
A couple of quizzes I tried today (without creating an account):
This one requires you to know a bit of Chemistry and a bit of Geography:
This one reminded me of studying for the SATs. It’s about analogies:
And when you finish a quiz, you’ll not only get your answers, but an explanation and an indication of how many other people have answered correctly:
I’ve noticed that the English used isn’t always perfect (for instance, in the answer above, the word “likely” is used incorrectly; it should be “similarly” or maybe “likewise”), but that’s no reason not to use the site. Like everything else on the internet, you need to read, watch and listen critically. And you need to realize that “perfect” language should probably not be your main goal in learning.
