UNESCO – Intangible Cultural Heritages

In several classes, we’ve been talking about the possibility of Japanese cuisine (和食) being designated by UNESCO as an “intangible cultural heritage”. To find out more about what ICH are and why it may be important to protect them, here are two links:

Keep working on your definitions for “washoku” and “Nihonshoku” and keep up with the news (keyword: “washoku”) — the decision will be made in December.
