Fakebook & The Wall Machine

Fakebook and The Wall Machine are two sites where you can make fake Facebook-like pages. Making a fake page can be a fun way to present your research, for example, to introduce a famous person in history, a character in a book, a world leader, or even an organization.

You don’t need to sign up for Fakebook, but to save a wall to edit later, you do need to use a password.

An simple example of Fakebook, started by a student:

A brief tutorial:

The Wall Machine says you don’t have to sign up, but when you try to create a wall, it takes you automatically to your real Facebook page. So if you’re willing to use your Facebook name to create fake walls, it looks like a fun place to do it. But Fakebook allows you to do it anonymously. The Wall Machine is still in beta, so it may grow in the future, to allow more anonymous creations.
